Sharing a photo or video

Open a photo or video, tap the share button, and choose PhotoLink. A short link is copied to your clipboard straight away, and the upload continues in the background. Paste the link anywhere.

Sharing several at once

In Photos, tap Select, choose up to 120 photos and videos, then tap the share button and choose PhotoLink. They all go behind one link. Recipients see them as a grid, can open each one (videos play in the browser), and can download them all as a single .zip file of the untouched originals.

PhotoLink isn't in the share sheet

Open the app once after installing. Then, in the share sheet, scroll the row of apps to the end, tap More, and turn on PhotoLink. You can drag it to the front of the list.

How long do links last?

12 hours from when the upload begins. After that the link shows that it has expired, and everything behind it is deleted.

Is there a size limit?

Photos up to 200 MB and videos up to 4 GB each, and up to 120 per link. Large videos upload in the background, so you can close PhotoLink and carry on.

A video won't play in the browser

iPhones record video in HEVC, which a few browsers can't play. The page says so, and Download still gives the full original. To share in the most widely playable format, set Settings → Camera → Formats to Most Compatible before recording.

Deleting early

In the PhotoLink app, swipe left on the link and tap Revoke. Everything behind it is deleted right away and the link stops working, even if an upload was still in progress.

My links on another device

Your links sync through your private iCloud account when iCloud is turned on for PhotoLink (Settings → your name → iCloud).

Location

PhotoLink removes the location from photos and videos before uploading them. You can change this in the app's settings.

Reporting something

If you were sent a link to something that shouldn't be shared, use the Report link at the bottom of its page, or email us with the link.
